Lyn Marsden-Watkins
I started art classes in London when I was thirty, fell in love with my art teacher who inspired me in more ways than one, and ended up persuading him to be my permanent companion.
We moved to Wales in order to bring up our children in a safe and healthy environment. As Roy was not able to drive, I had to take him to his various classes , so I made use of those two hour sessions to continue painting.
I had my first exhibition in Y Galeri in Lampeter in 1994 and I called it "Driving Force". I set up made-to-measure loose cover and curtain business from home as my previous business (hand finished soft animal toys with realistic appearance that I used to sell to Hamleys, Harrods, Selfridges etc.) had gone to the wall because of the recession in the early eighties.
Painting continues to be the most exciting thing and I love sharing my enthusiasm as well as other creative disciplines with young people
